Usher was ranked as the 21st most successful Hot 100 Singles Artist of all time by Billboard magazine.The RIAA ranks Usher as one of the best-selling artists in American music history, having sold 23 million copies in the United States alone.

Wright spent two years obtaining an associate's degree from Middlesex Community College in Bedford, Massachusetts, before enrolling at Emerson College. He graduated from the latter in 1978 and began performing stand-up comedy in 1979 at the Boston comedy club the Comedy Connection. He cites George Carlin and Woody Allen among his influences.

Akon drew criticism for an onstage act which included simulated sex with a 15-year-old girl, at a club in Trinidad and Tobago, as part of a fake contest, despite the club's claim to have a 21 years and over age limit.The incident was filmed by Akon's crew and later uploaded to the Internet.
